Webinars on “Introduction to FISU structure and events” and “Volunteer management in university sports events” mutually organized by SSRI and National University Sport Federation of Iran 

Educational workshop entitled “Introduction to FISU structure and events” mutually hosted by Sport Sciences Research Institute of Iran (SSRI) and National University Sport Federation of Iran (NUSF) were successfully organized with the aim of introducing students with the international events of university sports, especially educational events and programs and scholarships, as well as to acquaint students with the structure of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) as the major center of university sports in the world.
In order to promote volunteer movement in Iran, The NUSF formed volunteer association with 70 student members from different universities in partnership with Physical Education Administration of Iran.  SSRI has just established its volunteer association with 200 student members. It is planned to hold Mutual educational courses and webinars to develop volunteer culture among NUSF- and SSRI -volunteer association. For the first step, two webinars have already been held, and new courses and webinars are scheduled to be organized. 
During the first webinar the history of FISU, goals, structure, programs and committees were described. Moreover all FISU sport events including summer world university games, winter world university games, world university championship, and world university cup and league, educational events including FISU world forum, FISU volunteer leaders academy, FISU conference, international day of university sport, FISU festival, as well as educational activities during FISU events, FISU-NUSF projects, scholarships, FISU young reporters program, FISU student committee, FISU healthy campus, FISU-WASA anti-doping program were completely introduced to the participants. At the end of this webinar volunteers shared their experiences about participating in educational and sports online.
The second webinar entitled “volunteer management in sport events” was held with the aim of emphasizing the importance of the presence of volunteers in holding sports events and teaching the principles of scientific management of volunteers due to their unique nature.

Webinar topics consisted of an introduction to volunteer concepts, including the motivations, obstacles and characteristics of volunteers in sports events, volunteering process and volunteer management, introducing special considerations for volunteer management in various sports events, and principles of developing volunteer management program in sports events. 

Mahdieh Seraji, FISU ambassador was the instructor of webinars.  Dr. Mohammad Hossein Alizadeh , NUSF president/ Dr. Ali Sharifnezhad SSRI president/ Dr. Marjan Saffari NUSF women Vice president/ Dr. Saleh Rafiee, head of volunteer association/ Dr. Fariba Mohammadi and Dr. Ali Kashi, SSRI deputies also participated in workshops and provided some practical contents.
