At the reopening ceremony of the National Sports Science Laboratories complex, the President of the SSRI emphasized that this event is not merely a reopening of a physical facility but a scientific revival and a starting point for expanding the institute's modern activities at the national level. She welcomed the attendance of professors and managers and thanked Dr. Khosropanah, Dr. Habiba, and Dr. Taherinia. She gave special mention to Zahra Nemati, calling her a symbol of hope and determination who has raised the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran many times in international arenas and earned the admiration of the Supreme Leader.
Reflecting on the first year of her tenure, Dr. Mohammadi outlined three major missions: precise assessment of challenges including an 18 billion toman deficit, leveraging previous managers' experience, and designing a roadmap based on national capacities. Achievements include a 62% increase in budget, improved physical facilities, gaining an executive recruitment license, and administrative process reforms.
She described the institute's expanded services in four main areas:
Scientific and specialized services - motor development analysis, talent scouting, evaluation of professional athletes, musculoskeletal monitoring, cognitive science research, physiology and nutrition services, and the only specialized laboratory for veteran and disabled athletes.
Social and wellness services - student wellness, promotion of active lifestyles, physical literacy development, senior sports, pre-pregnancy physical activity programs for women, and social vitality and hope enhancement.
Governance and cultural interactions - involvement in drafting laws, policies, and cultural-sports discourse.
Technology, innovation, and artificial intelligence - development of sports technologies, support for innovation, and a central role in artificial intelligence in sports.
She stressed the need to enhance financial, human, and equipment resources to achieve the institute's rightful place, stating that necessary actions have started with strong ministerial support. She concluded by expressing determination to continue this new path to create lasting benefits for the country's scientific and sports communities.
