Engineer Mehdi Akbarpour, Director General of Supervision of Construction Projects at the Ministry of Science, visited the SSRI and toured various sections of the complex to learn about the latest status of the projects, the actions taken, and the development needs of the iSSRI.
According to the Public Relations of the SSRI, during this visit, Dr. Fariba Mohammadi, the head of the institute, presented a comprehensive report outlining the history, missions, and achievements of the institute. She emphasized the institute’s position as the "national reference for knowledge production in the field of sports" and its role in providing scientific support for major decision-making and policy development in the country’s sports sector.
The institute’s head also highlighted some of the challenges ahead, pointing out space shortages and infrastructural limitations as primary obstacles in enhancing research capacities. She expressed hope that, with support from the Ministry of Science, significant steps will be taken for the physical development and equipping of the institute.
Engineer Akbarpour praised the performance of the institute and reaffirmed the Ministry of Science’s determination to remove construction barriers and develop the research space. He mentioned the utilization of all legal and executive capacities, including proposing the use of unused land in other universities and research centers for research centers lacking adequate space, as well as the implementation of the "productive law" (moladsazi law). He stated: "With the support of the Minister of Science, we will seriously support such projects."
At the end of the meeting, Engineer Akbarpour and his delegation visited various renovated sections and laboratories of the institute under commissioning and were closely informed about the renovation progress and the next development plan.
