The SSRI, on the occasion of Book, Reading, and Librarian Week, with the aim of promoting a culture of reading and expanding access for university faculty to up-to-date scientific resources in the field of sports sciences, donated a collection of its specialized authored and translated works to university libraries across the country.
According to the Public Relations of the SSRI, as part of this cultural initiative, over 2,300 volumes of books covering 76 titles in areas such as sports physiology, sports management, sports psychology, behavioral sciences, and sports injury prevention were sent to various universities including the Comprehensive University of Applied Science and Technology, West Tehran Unit, Razi University of Kermanshah, Farhangian University Zeynabiyeh Campus of Tehran counties, Lorestan University, Yazd University, and Gonbad Kavous University.
The donated books include publications by the Institute’s publishing house aimed at enhancing the quality of education and research, facilitating access for professors, students, and researchers to specialized scientific resources, and promoting a culture of reading in the academic community.
Dr. Fariba Mohammadi, President of theSSRI, while commemorating Book and Reading Week, stated: "Donating books to university libraries is a valuable effort in support of the educational and research processes in the country."
She added: "Books are the foundation of scientific and cultural growth in any society, and expanding them in academic environments fosters dynamic thinking and elevates the level of knowledge."
The Institute’s president further stated that this cultural initiative will continue in the coming years, and the scope of book donation will be extended to other universities and scientific centers across the country, to take an effective step toward enhancing knowledge and promoting a culture of reading among Iran’s scientific community.
