The Member of Parliament and the Director General of the Parliamentary Affairs Office of the Ministry of Science visited theSSRI,
touring various sections of the complex and holding a meeting with the institute’s president to discuss its plans, challenges, and development paths.
According to ssri Public Relations Department, Dr. Rahim Zare, Member of Parliament and member of the Program and Budget Commission, together with Dr. Jasb Nikfar, Director General of the Parliamentary Affairs Office of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, met with Dr. Fariba Mohammadi, President of the Institute of Physical Education and Sport Sciences.
During this meeting, the president of the institute welcomed the guests and presented a report on the institute’s activities, achievements, and future programs. She highlighted the institute’s role in producing specialized knowledge and providing scientific support for major sport policy decisions in the country, stating: “Despite scientific advances and numerous national projects, financial and infrastructural limitations are among the main challenges faced by the institute, which we hope will be addressed with support from Parliament and the Ministry of Science.”
Afterwards, the guests toured various sections of the institute, and in a joint session, discussed financial, development, and equipment matters of the institute.
Dr. Rahim Zare commended the institute’s efforts, emphasized its important role in scientific development of sports in the country, and announced his intention to follow up on the institute’s financial and construction issues in Parliament and the Program and Budget Organization.
Dr. Nikfar also stressed continuous cooperation between the Ministry of Science and the Islamic Parliament to support scientific institutions, and outlined implementation paths for resolving the institute’s financial obstacles.
At the end, both parties highlighted the need for appropriate budget allocation for the Institute of Sport Sciences in 2026, so that this institution can play a more effective role in developing applied research and advancing sports knowledge in the country.
The program ended with the Member of Parliament and the Director General of Parliamentary Affairs visiting various laboratories in the institute undergoing equipment and reconstruction.
Accompanied by the institute’s president and vice-presidents, the mentioned officials reviewed the latest achievements, advanced equipment, and ongoing reconstruction at the research center, and engaged in discussions with laboratory experts and specialists.
