The scientific-practical session was held at the 24th (Sportex).

 

Managed by Dr. Ali Kashi, a faculty member of the SSRI, the meeting focused on exploring capacities and challenges in the development of senior sports, and proposing scientific and practical solutions.

Notable participants included Dr. Hossein Nahvi Nejad, advisor on seniors and disabled affairs at the Welfare Organization and former head of the National Council on Seniors and Kahrizak; Dr. Taghavi, head of Tehran’s senior sports board; and Dr. Mohammadreza Seydi, faculty member at the Institute and former secretary of the Aging Association.

Participants emphasized interdisciplinary cooperation for success in senior sports and highlighted the necessity of professional training for coaches and university graduates. Dr. Seydi stressed specialized training and skill development of graduates for scientific service provision to seniors, and Dr. Nahvi Nejad underscored the involvement of academically qualified individuals with specialized training in this field.

The discussion also covered challenges and solutions in senior sports development and emphasized collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Science for joint training and activities. The importance of the national seniors’ document and using insurance services for better access to senior sports specialists were also noted.
