A knowledge-enhancement session titled "Activism of the University Sports Community Regarding the Imposed War" has commenced with the participation of professors and researchers at the SSRI

Dr. Fariba Mohammadi, the institute's president, welcomed the guests and emphasized the significant role of the scientific sports community in facing the country's historical and social events. She described the twelve-day imposed war against Iran as a harsh reminder of violence, aggression, and blatant human rights violations. The scientific and sports community, irrespective of political views, condemns any form of war-mongering and organized violence.

Dr. Mohammadi noted that holding the session more than two months after the event provides an opportunity for scientific analysis beyond emotional reactions and for reflecting on the responsibilities of the sports community. She highlighted that sports, especially sports sciences, are not only fields of competition but also platforms for national identity formation, social cohesion, and cultural-political diplomacy. Therefore, it is essential to discuss the fundamental questions: What is the duty of the sports community? What is the responsibility of sports academicians? And how should university sports be positioned in such critical historical moments? The institute commits to facilitating scientific dialogue and discourse on these issues.Dr. Mohammadi thanked collaborating institutions such as the Sports Policy and Governance Think Tank, Imam Hossein Comprehensive University, Basij Professors, and the institute’s colleagues, expressing hope that the scientific discussions from this session will pave the way for a bright future for university sports in the country.
