Appointment of Dr. Fariba Mohammadi as President of the SSRI by the Minister of Science, Research and Technology

By the decree of Dr. Hossein Simayi, Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Dr. Fariba Mohammadi has been appointed as the President of the SSRI.

According to the Public Relations office, following evaluations by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution and the order of the senior minister of Science, Research and Technology, Dr. Fariba Mohammadi was appointed as the president of the institute.

The decree states:

Greetings and respects,
Given your commitment, expertise, and valuable experiences, and based on the resolution of the 67th session dated 12 Mordad 1404 (August 3, 2025) of the Committee for Appointment of University Presidents — Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution — you are hereby appointed as the President of the Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for a period of four years from the date of your acting leadership.

It is expected that you, relying on God Almighty, manage the institute based on laws, approved policies, programs, and the Islamic University document. It is hoped that by following Islamic teachings, scientific foundations, the government’s national consensus strategy, and by attracting collaboration from academics and experts, you will fulfill your assigned duties honorably.

About Dr. Fariba Mohammadi:
Dr. Mohammadi is a faculty member of the Sports Medicine Research Group at the Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences with the academic rank of Associate Professor.

Scientific Activities:
She actively works in the Sports Medicine research group at the institute, focusing her research specifically on sports and rehabilitation for people with disabilities. To date, Dr. Mohammadi has completed 26 research projects (both in-house and commissioned) as a principal investigator or co-researcher. She has published over 50 scientific articles in reputable national and international journals and conferences.

She has authored, translated, or scientifically edited 14 books in specialized fields. In education, beyond teaching specialized courses at the universities of Tehran, Allameh Tabataba’i, and Shahid Beheshti, as well as national and international workshops, she has supervised over 20 graduate theses.

Dr. Mohammadi is a prominent figure in the Paralympic movement and has been active in the fields of sports for the visually impaired, veterans, and disabled athletes. In 2020, she was recognized by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) as one of the three successful women leaders shaping the future of the Paralympic movement.
