Successful Completion of the 2025 Practical Exam for the Sports Sciences Major with the Participation of Over 3,000 Specialists Nationwide

The practical exam for the Sports Sciences major of the 2025 National University Entrance Exam (Konkur) started on the morning of Thursday, August 7, 2025 (16 Mordad 1404) and concluded in all testing centers by the afternoon of Saturday, August 9, 2025 (18 Mordad 1404).
According to the Public Relations office , Dr. Hamed Abbasi, Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies at the Institute and Executive Director of the Practical Exam, reported that this event was held nationwide with over 20,000 candidates. It was organized in collaboration between the National Organization for Educational Testing, the Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences (Ministry of Science, Research and Technology), 26 universities, and more than 3,000 specialized personnel acting as executive staff.
Dr. Abbasi emphasized that this year’s practical exam aimed to precisely assess applicants’ health, physical fitness, and motor skills for admission to the Sports Sciences program. The practical exam score, treated like a specialized course with a coefficient of 12, will significantly impact the final ranking for candidates applying to the “Sports Sciences / Exam-based” admission method in the 2025 national entrance exam.
Candidates, after undergoing medical examination and physical and balance screening, participated in the practical exam, defined as the “Seven Challenges of the Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.” The seven stages included:
First Challenge: Hanging pull-up hold (lying) for 20 seconds
Second Challenge: Dribbling in football and basketball
Third Challenge: Sit-ups within 30 seconds
Fourth Challenge: Two-footed obstacle jumps
Fifth Challenge: 4 × 9 meters shuttle run
Sixth Challenge: Medicine ball throw
Seventh Challenge: 250-meter run for men / 150-meter run for women
