Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Sports Sciences Research Institute

According to the Public Relations of the Sports Sciences Research Institute, the 25th Anniversary Ceremony of the institute was held with the presence of Dr. Zahra Salman (President of the Institute), Dr. Majid Ali-Tavalli (Vice President for Administrative, Financial, and Resource Management), Dr. Hossein Zaryan (Vice President for Cultural and Social Affairs), Dr. Hamed Abbasi (Head of Research and Graduate Studies), Dr. Behnam Naghipour (Head of Technology Division), and several managers, faculty members, and staff in the institute’s meeting hall.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Salman, in her congratulatory speech, extended her warm wishes on the occasion of the birth of Imam Hassan Askari (AS), the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the institute, and the Week of Physical Education and Sports. She acknowledged the efforts of the dedicated team and emphasized how each member’s continuous efforts have contributed to the growth of the institute over the years.
Dr. Salman said, “It has been 25 years, and each of you has worked tirelessly to bring this growing institute to where it is now. We are grateful for the invaluable services of all the staff, and we will continue to appreciate their contributions. We hope that with increased synergy and collaboration from all the stakeholders in the field of sports science, we will witness further growth in the scientific and research aspects of sports in the country.”
She referred to the words of the Supreme Leader of Iran, who said, “Encouraging sports is akin to promoting virtue,” and emphasized the importance of dedicating each day of the year to promoting sports. Dr. Salman urged every member of the sports community to propagate the culture of sports, starting from their immediate families and expanding to the larger community, noting that “the health of an individual is the health of society.”
She continued by highlighting the positive impacts of regular and purposeful physical activity on various aspects of life, including physical, psychological, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being.
During the ceremony, Ms. Beheshtah Eghbali, a long-time employee of the institute, read the names of former presidents and vice presidents and gave a brief overview of the institute’s achievements and milestones from its founding in 1998 to the present (2023).
The ceremony also included a tribute to Ms. Ziba Estavan and Ms. Leili Pirali, two staff members who recently retired, honoring their commitment, dedication, and exemplary contributions to the institute.
The event concluded with the unveiling of a commemorative statue marking the 25th anniversary of the institute’s establishment.
