SSRII Graduate Student Claims First Place in 400m Race at National Student Olympiad

Farzaneh Parvani, a master’s student at the Sports Science Research Institute of Iran (SSRC), secured first place in her heat in the 400m track and field race at the 16th National Student Olympiad for Female Athletes. Among 21 competitors, she finished sixth overall, recording a time of 1:07.46 minutes.

Over the past two months, the SSRC, in collaboration with the Physical Education Department of the Student Affairs Organization, worked diligently to secure her participation in the Olympiad. This marks the first-ever participation of SSRC in national student sports Olympiads.

The 16th National Cultural and Sports Olympiad for Female University Students commenced on Monday, August 6, at Isfahan University of Technology, concluding on August 15. The competition featured 2,225 female athletes from 128 universities, competing across 13 sports disciplines, including handball, volleyball, futsal, basketball, table tennis, taekwondo, swimming, badminton, chess, athletics, wushu, karate, and shooting.
