Report on the Pre-Exam Meeting for the 1403 Academic Year Sports Sciences Practical Exam

According to the Public Relations Office of the Sports Science Research Institute, a brainstorming session was held with the heads of faculties and authorized representatives from the universities hosting the 1403 Sports Sciences Practical Exam on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. The meeting was attended by Dr. Zahra Salman, President of the Sports Science Research Institute, Dr. Mohsen Esmaeili, Head of the Research and Graduate Studies Department, Dr. Hossein Zarian, Vice President for Cultural and Social Affairs, Dr. Behnam Naqipour, Head of the Technology Department, Dr. Hamed Abbasi, Technical Coordinator for the exam, Ms. Beheshta Eghbali, Exam Secretariat Head, and Mr. Masoud Moradizadeh, IT Manager, as well as other officials from the hosting universities. The meeting took place virtually in the institute’s meeting hall.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Zahra Salman expressed condolences for the mourning period of Hazrat Aba Abdallah al-Husayn (AS) and his loyal companions, acknowledged the week of government, and extended her thanks to the officials from the universities and higher education centers responsible for organizing the practical exam. She then shared key points for ensuring the successful execution of this important national event in the field of sports.

Dr. Mohsen Esmaeili presented a complete report on the activities carried out in the past months concerning the preparation and execution of the practical exam for Sports Sciences at the national level.

Dr. Hossein Zarian then explained that 27 examination centers across the country would conduct the practical exams. He emphasized that coordination between the universities and the Research Institute had been at the highest level and that all preparations had been completed successfully. He mentioned that the practical exam would not be held in four provinces (Alborz, Bushehr, Qom, Qazvin, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad). Instead, nearby provinces would host the candidates. In Sistan and Baluchestan, due to the vastness of the region, two centers (University of Sistan and Baluchestan and University of Marine Sciences in Chabahar) would hold the practical exam.

The 1403 Sports Sciences practical exam will take place with the help of over 2,500 trained professionals, including faculty members, professors, students, and graduates in the field of physical education and sports sciences. This large-scale event will be held across 27 centers nationwide with more than 21,000 candidates participating.

Dr. Hamed Abbasi, the Technical Coordinator for the practical exam, provided detailed explanations regarding the body condition evaluation stations, balance assessment, and the correct execution of the seven-stage exam. These stages include: Pull-up hold for 20 seconds, Football and basketball dribbling, Sit-ups for 30 seconds, Jumping over obstacles, 4x9m agility test, Medicine ball throw, 250-meter run for men and 150-meter run for women.

At the end of the session, Ms. Beheshta Eghbali provided essential recommendations regarding the general aspects of the exam and the necessary arrangements for the exam centers and university officials responsible for organizing the exam.

The practical exam for men will take place on Thursday, September 8, and for women on Friday, September 9, 2023. Additionally, this exam will be held exclusively for women on September 10, 2023, at the University of Ferdowsi in Mashhad.
