Report on the Start of the 2023 Practical Test for the Sports Science Program

According to the Public Relations Office of the Sports Science Research Institute, the 2023 practical exam for the Sports Science program (admission through the exam method) began today, Thursday, September 8, for male candidates and will continue on Friday, September 9, for female candidates. Additionally, as an exception, the exam for female candidates at the University of Ferdowsi Mashhad will be held over two days, on September 9 and 10.

This major national event involves more than 21,000 candidates across 27 test centers, in collaboration with universities nationwide and the participation of over 1,500 trained and specialized staff members, including faculty members, professors, students, and graduates of the Sports Science program as part of the executive and judging teams. Additionally, 54 observers, representing the Sports Science Research Institute of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, will be present at all test centers (for both male and female candidates), along with representatives from the National Organization for Educational Measurement and Evaluation on a full-time basis.

This year’s practical exam includes seven stages, collectively known as the Seven Trials of the Sports Science Research Institute. The test stages include: Barbell pull-up hold for 20 seconds, football and basketball dribbling, sit-ups for 30 seconds, hurdle jump, 4x9 meter run, medicine ball throw, and 250-meter run for men/150-meter run for women. It is important to note that before participating in the practical exam, all candidates will undergo physical health and medical evaluations at all test centers.

Candidates must attend their designated test centers in the morning session from 06:00 to 12:00 or in the afternoon session from 13:00 to 17:00 based on their province and district of residence. Since the practical exam participation card is issued according to the address provided by the candidate during the nationwide entrance exam registration, changing the test center is not permitted under any circumstances. The exam card will be handed to the candidates at the test centers and will not be issued online.

It is noteworthy that the practical exam is only held once this year (from September 8 to 10, 2023), and if any candidate fails to attend the practical exam, they will not be eligible for admission to the Sports Science Program through the Exam Method. Furthermore, the practical exam score will be considered as a specialized course with a coefficient of 12 when the final results of the 2023 national entrance exam are announced for this program.

Candidates who wish to participate in the practical exam can visit the website of the Sports Science Research Institute at ssrc.ac.ir/azmoon1403 for information on medical examination fees, exam guidance videos, and further details. In case of urgent matters, they can contact the helpline at 09018062981.
