Physical Activity and Exercise Guidelines for Individuals with Down Syndrome: Upcoming Training Course
SSRII has announced an 8-hour training course titled “Guidelines for Physical Activity and Exercise in Individuals with Down Syndrome,” scheduled for May 1, 2025.
The course will be held both in-person at the institute’s premises and virtually for participants across the country.
Course Instructors:
• Dr. Ali Kashi: Associate Professor at the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and Secretary-General of Special Olympics Iran.
• Dr. Sahel Hemmati: Psychiatrist and Associate Professor at the University of Rehabilitation and Social Health Sciences.
Key Topics Covered:
• Understanding Down Syndrome and its effects.
• Principles and fundamentals of exercise for individuals with Down Syndrome.
• Developing customized exercise prescriptions.
Additional Details:
• Eligibility: Open to the general public; no prerequisites required.
• Certification: All participants will receive a bilingual certificate of attendance issued by the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, affiliated with the Ministry of Science.
