Ceremony Held for Leadership Transition at SSRII
According to the Public Relations Office of SSRII, a ceremony honoring Dr. Zahra Salman, the outgoing president of the institute, and introducing Dr. Fariba Mohammadi as the new acting president, was held in the presence of Dr. Saeed Habiba, Deputy Minister of Science and Head of the Student Affairs Organization, at the institute’s headquarters.
Dr. Zahra Salman began the event by offering condolences for Fatimiyya and commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her).
She presented a brief report highlighting key achievements of the institute during her tenure, attributing the success to the collective efforts of her colleagues.
She expressed gratitude for their support, congratulated Dr. Mohammadi on her appointment, and wished her continued success in leading the institute.
In her remarks, Dr. Fariba Mohammadi extended condolences for the occasion, welcomed Dr. Saeed Habiba and his delegation, and expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology for their trust in her.
She emphasized her commitment to fostering teamwork, effective management, and impactful activities to uphold the institute’s mission and elevate the field of sports under the ministry’s guidance.

She expressed hope that, with the support of the Ministry of Science, the Student Affairs Organization, and the collaboration of faculty members and staff, the institute would make significant strides in fulfilling its mission and advancing sports science in the country.
Acknowledging the contributions of Dr. Salman, Dr. Mohammadi stated her readiness to welcome constructive feedback from experts within and outside the institute to enhance its performance and services.
Dr. Saeed Habiba, Deputy Minister of Science, also extended condolences for the occasion and highlighted his recent engagements with key figures in the field of sports. He emphasized the need for synergy, constructive interaction, and strategic planning to maximize opportunities and meet the institute’s expectations in advancing university and national sports programs.
Dr. Habiba noted that the institute has reached a high level of maturity and emphasized that leadership changes are made to leverage individuals’ talents to achieve greater outcomes. He expressed hope that the efforts of the institute’s team would continue to yield success.
Highlighting the vital role of sports in promoting youth well-being and optimism, Dr. Habiba emphasized the institute’s responsibility to provide scientific foundations for sports. He called for collaborative efforts to enhance the institute’s presence on national and international stages.
Conveying greetings from the Minister of Science to both Dr. Salman and Dr. Mohammadi, Dr. Habiba expressed his gratitude to Dr. Salman for her two years of dedicated service and wished Dr. Mohammadi success in her new role.
He assured the institute of the Student Affairs Organization’s full support in achieving its goals, particularly in advancing university sports through the synergy of three key entities: the Physical Education and Sports Research Institute, the Directorate of Physical Education, and the National Federation of University Sports.
