Fifth Rehab Tech 2025 Startup Event Highlights Innovation for Seniors, Veterans, and People with Disabilities

SSRII hosted the 5th Rehab Tech Startup Event (Rehab Tech 2025) today, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in collaboration with the Innovation and Prosperity Fund of the Presidential Office, Hamyar Mechanic Koosha Accelerator, the Sports Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, and the Federation of Sports for Veterans and the Disabled.

The event took place at the Innovation and Prosperity Fund’s premises and focused on technological solutions for seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.

Event Overview

A panel of experts, including:
    •    Dr. Mehdi Rasouli, Head of the Innovation Center at the Research Institute,
    •    Dr. Ali Sharifnejad, Dr. Ali Kashi, and Dr. Mohammad Shariatzadeh, Faculty Members of the Research Institute,
    •    Mr. Majid Nezami, Secretary of the Federation of Sports for Veterans and the Disabled, and
    •    Mr. Milad Beig Rezai, Head of Education and Research at the Federation,

engaged with participating startup teams to evaluate their projects. Out of 20 competing teams, 10 finalists presented their innovative services and products to a group of investors. The event concluded with the recognition of the top three startups, which received awards for their outstanding contributions.

Post-Event Support

All 20 participating teams will now enter a mentorship and acceleration program, including sessions with investors to further develop their ideas.

Support for Disability-Oriented Innovations

Under a joint agreement between the Research Institute and the Federation of Sports for Veterans and the Disabled, participating startups addressing the needs of people with disabilities in sports and wellness will receive financial and material support from the Sports Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.

This initiative underscores the Research Institute’s commitment to fostering innovation in sports and rehabilitation technologies, particularly for underserved communities.
