SSRII Publication Announcement: Speed-Based Strength Training Book Now Available

The Sports Sciences Research Institute has announced the release of the Persian translation of “Speed-Based Strength Training: Maximizing Athletic Performance Using Science, Technology, and Data,” authored by Nunzio Signore.

The book has been translated by Dr. Mohammad Shariatzadeh, Dr. Zohreh Borhani Kakhki, Dr. Hadi Rouhani, and Dr. Zahra Sarlak.

Priced at 300,000 Tomans, it is now available through the institute’s publishing house.

About the Book (Translator’s Perspective)

The book provides innovative approaches for coaches and strength training specialists looking to optimize athletic performance.

It emphasizes the importance of real-time monitoring and precise management of training variables to ensure optimal adaptation, reduce overtraining and injuries, and ultimately enhance competitive readiness.

Traditional strength training has long relied on the one-repetition maximum (1RM) method to determine intensity. However, recent advancements advocate for the use of hardware and software to monitor repetition velocity, a method known as velocity-based training (VBT).

This modern approach offers a more effective way to track and adjust training intensity. The book, structured into 12 comprehensive chapters, introduces practical tools and techniques for integrating VBT into athletic preparation programs, drawn from the author’s experience working with professional athletes.

Chapters Overview

1. Decoding VBT

2. Understanding Measurement Metrics

3. Tools of the Trade

4. Specific Strength Zones

5. Calculating 1RM

6. Utilizing Auto-Regulation and Velocity Loss

7. Annual Periodization Using VBT

8. Early Off-Season: Tissue Preparation and Hypertrophy
