N.U.S.F.I.R.I Charts Future Course at Board Meeting

Tehran, January 6 — The National University Sports Federation convened its board meeting, bringing together key figures in student athletics, including Dr.

Saeed Habiba, Deputy Minister of Science and Head of the Student Affairs Organization; Dr. Mostafa Afshari, Acting President of the Federation; Dr. Fariba Mohammadi, Acting Director of SSRII and Dr. Mostafa Zarei, Director General of Physical Education at the Student Affairs Organization. Dr. Habiba opened the meeting with congratulatory remarks on the sacred occasions of the month of Rajab.

He reaffirmed the Federation’s role as an influential player on the international stage and pledged the continued support of the Student Affairs Organization to advance its mission.

“This Federation is unique in its international standing,” Dr. Habiba said. “With the collective expertise and experience of its leadership, and through collaboration with academic institutions and provincial sports boards, we can take meaningful steps to elevate student athletics in the country.”

Highlighting the ethical foundation of sports, Dr. Habiba praised the Federation’s focus on values and camaraderie. “The spirit of sportsmanship and ethics among you is inspiring and deserves to be celebrated,” he noted.

Dr. Habiba also addressed the growing challenge of sedentary lifestyles brought on by modern technology, emphasizing the critical role of sports in combating its negative effects. “Physical activity remains the most cost-effective and impactful solution for addressing inactivity and mental health challenges,” he said.

Looking ahead, Dr. Habiba urged strategic planning for the 2025 World University Games, emphasizing the need for rigorous preparation to ensure strong participation. “We must approach these games with precision and determination to represent our country with pride and achieve notable results,” he added.

The session also included recognition of outgoing board members, with Dr. Habiba expressing gratitude for their service. He congratulated the newly appointed members, wishing them success in advancing the Federation’s goals. As the meeting concluded, attendees reaffirmed their commitment to fostering a culture of athletic excellence among students while prioritizing ethics and collaboration to meet the challenges ahead.
