Graduate Students Explore Iran’s Sports Legacy at the National Museum of Sports, Olympics, and Paralympics

In celebration of Student Day on December 7, a group of postgraduate students specializing in Motor Development, Sports Physiology, and Sports Nutrition from SSRII visited the National Museum of Sports, Olympics, and Paralympics.

The group was accompanied by Dr. Nazanin Rasekh, Director of Postgraduate Studies and Specialized Training, and Ms. Sepideh Ma’navi, Head of Cultural Affairs.

The visit offered an engaging journey through Iran’s storied sports history, as a museum expert guided the group through its diverse exhibits.

Students were introduced to the achievements of Iranian athletes, coaches, and sports professionals on international stages, spanning from ancient traditions to modern competitions.

A Closer Look at the Museum The National Museum of Sports houses a variety of exhibits across multiple floors:

• Ground Floor:

Hall of “Iranian Sports Legends,” showcasing icons who have left a lasting legacy.

• First Floor: Exhibits on “Olympic and Paralympic Disciplines,” “Ancient and Modern Olympics,” “Principles and Symbols of the Olympics,” “Statues and Plaques,” and a “Chronology of Olympic Games.”

• Second Floor: Displays celebrating “Traditional and Modern Iranian Sports,” “Chivalry and Heroism,” “Women in Sports,” “Iranian Champions,” “Trophies and Medals,” “Sports Media,” and “Equestrian and Polo.”

A Lesson in Heritage

The visit provided a unique opportunity for students to connect with Iran’s sporting heritage and its role in shaping national identity.

By highlighting the triumphs and contributions of Iranian athletes across various disciplines, the experience deepened their understanding of the cultural and historical significance of sports in the country.

To mark the occasion, SSRII presented commemorative gifts to the students, adding a personal touch to a day filled with inspiration and learning.
